Welcome to Snerpa Hotspot!

It’s easy for travellers to connect to the Internet in Ísafjörður. Snerpa, the local ISP has installed a wireless network throughout the town, based on high speed uplinks. All you have to do is look for ‘snerpa-hotspot’ on your WiFi connection. You will be directed to a portal where you can either purchase access or enter an access token available at the vendors throughout town.

We would like to emphasize that the online payment we use is done over a secure connection at Valitor, which is a leading payment and e-commerce solutions company, one of the first companies to receive a european cross-border license, working in close collaboration with VISA EU and MasterCard. This also means that Snerpa does not store your payment information at any point You get a receipt sent in e-mail.

Snerpa has been operating in the computer and Internet service since 1994 and is in fact the oldest operating ISP in Iceland. Snerpa’s network is focused on serving the Westfjords peninsula but also offers DSL connections all over Iceland.

One access for all our hotspots

Our system is set up in such a way that when you have gained access to one hotspot, you will automatically also get access to any other hotspot we operate during the validity of your session.
In the summer of 2016 we are planning to increase the service area and have already opened a new hotspot at the Hrafnseyri Museum in Arnarfjörður and currently working on new hotspots in the villages of Flateyri and Þingeyri, along with additional hotspots in Ísafjörður.

Our WiFi network is not free. However we are committed to provide the service as cheap as possible. One hour pass is for €1.5 and a daypass is €4 only when you buy online. You can also buy a token ticket at vendors throughout town and pay in ISK. The price is then 200 kr. for 1 hour and 600 kr. for one day.
